Creating and Presenting

Assignment 1 - Duplicating a Logo

Add Google Color Picker Extension to Chrome so that you can find your RGB color values

 

Use the internet to find a logo of your choice ..... favourite team, designer product, etc.
Save the original logo as OriginalLogo in your N:Drive > Unit 1 > Assignment 1 Folder
Make sure that the logo is not too simple, your mark will be based on degree of difficulty.
The logo must contain both text and graphics. It must also include different shapes and the use of curves
.

Using Inkscape reproduce the logo as accurately as possible. You may not copy or trace any part of the logo.

Saving your Work

Now that you have finished creating the logo, you can save the file for future use. We will save the file in two formats

Save your Logo in .svg Format

  1. Click File menu >Save as
  2. From the Save in list box, choose the N: drive and your Unit 1 Folder > Assignment 1
  3. In the Filename box, type duplicate logo
  4. Click Save.

Export your Logo in .png Format

  1. Click File menu > Export png
  2. In the menu box,choose export as/ Browse to your N:Drive and type duplicate logo
  3. Click Export

Save the Original Logo

Right click on the original logo image and save it to your N:Drive > Unit 1 > Assignment 1

 

Putting your Work on your Website

In Google Drive:

Upload your duplicatelogo.svg to your Google Drive in Unit 1 > Assignment 1 Folder

Upload your duplicatelogo.png to your Google Drive in Unit 1 > Assignment 1 Folder

Upload my original logo to your Google Drive in Unit 1> Assignment 1 Folder

On your Website:

Insert the Unit 1 > Assignment 1 Folder on your website using Insert > Drive > Folder

Using a table post the Original Logo and your duplicatelogo.png side by side.


Creating and Presenting

Assignment 2 - Designing your own Logo

Design a logo that represents you. Your logo must include geometric shapes with fill colour and borders, text on a curve, and you must use the artistic media tool and the bezier tool in your drawing. Your name and a tag line must appear somewhere in the logo. Make use of the drop shadow tool to give your drawing depth. You should also experiment with at least one other tool that we have not used yet.
